This was such a great spot to go to near time square. Just about .1 mile from The Great Gatsby theatre. We ordered the Chicken Tikka Masala and the Lamb Curry with plain naan. Both were delicious and the naan was nice and buttery. We could have drank the tikka masala sauce like it was soup honestly. (BUT they barely give any rice. I gave my husband my serving of rice and it still wasn't enough for him to finish the chicken tikka with. He had to use some of my naan. Rice is very inexpensive, so it felt like a cheap way to make 3 more dollars.) To finish off, we ordered one mango lassi to share. It was huge! The atmosphere was very nice and the wait staff were extremely attentive. It was very affordable given the New York City prices.
that was the best food I've ever had. It was so tasty and the service was very good. The area was great and I love it. it was a good size and the environment was good.
Overall solid - Chicken not dry - Sauces flavorful not too spicy - Not enough rice - Keema Samosa is better than vegetarian - Prix Fixe samosa only comes with 1 - regular app comes with 2 Would come back!
Ordered: 3-course Prix Fixe (~$27/person) -Appetizer: Keema Samosa & Butternut Squash Soup -Entree: Chicken Korma & Chicken Curry, served with basmati rice -Dessert: Mango Lassi & Kheer Plain Naan (~$4) Aya's take: We were in the area looking for a quick dinner, stopped by Bengal Tiger around 6pm, and were seated right away. This place has so many reviews and mostly good ones so we knew it wouldn't disappoint. We opted for the 3-course Prix Fixe which I think is a great choice if you want to try a few menu items. The Keema Samosa was fried to a perfect golden brown and was probably one of the best samosas I've had. It was loaded with ground lamb and spices. Both mint and tamarind chutneys had great flavor and went well with the samosa. The Entrees were both pretty good too. The Chicken Korma was my preference; it was creamy, lightly spiced, and the chicken was tender. For dessert, we got the Mango Lassi & Kheer. I was actually about to get the Mango Lassi early on to enjoy with my meal. The Kheer aka rice pudding didn't stand out to me honestly. Great try, overall!
We originally went to their old location (lol) google hadn't updated the address to their new location, so we had a short walk a few blocks up the street. I hadn't been to their old location but my sister said their new location is MUCH nicer. I thought the ambiance was very relaxing and welcoming. The greeters and waiters were very polite and welcoming and our service was prompt. The food was AMAZING. Worth every single penny.
Overall such yummy Indian food with modern & pretty interior !! All dishes were perfectly creamy and came out piping hot. Definitely will come back to this place Butter Chicken (9.5/10): Sooo yummy! The chicken was so tender and savory, bathed in the creamiest butter sauce. Pairing it with the garlic naan was definitely the move Lamb Curry (8/10): Lamb curry also hit so hard, but the butter chicken outperformed it. Lamb was incredibly tender and juicy and the curry was full of spices. It was so satisfying and the perfect comfort food
This month I have definitely been trying more affordable restaurants and deals and I must hop on and agree with the internet, @bengaltigerindianfood has a great dinner option that includes a 3 course pri-fix for $27! My friend and I got - vegetable samosa - keema samosa - Chicken Tikka Masala (i know I'm basic) - Chicken Makhni (we both actually liked this one slightly more) - Gulab Jamun (I've never tried this and loved the texture. It was quite sweet though!) + we added garlic naan Absolutely delicious and affordable dinner. I would definitely come back. 4.7/5
I came here with a friend and we both got the prix menu. It is three courses (appetizer, entree, and dessert) for $27. We ordered the keema samosa, pakora, lamb curry and vindaloo, and kheer. Service was extremely fast. They took our order quickly and served us quickly too. The water was constantly refilled. The staff were friendly. The appetizers were really delicious. I enjoyed the keema samosa a lot. The lamb curry was good, the lamb was very tender. The rice to curry ratio is a little off. There's a lot more curry than rice. We took our leftover curry to go. The vindaloo was a bit spicy so I didn't try much but my friend enjoyed it. But the staff did let us know multiple times that it will be spicy. The kheer was okay. Nothing special but not too sweet which was nice. Food is really affordable for the area even without getting the prix fix menu. I was comparing the prices after and it seems to be about the same. When you order off the prix fix menu, the appetizer portions are larger. I don't know about the other portion sizes. I think the entree portion size was probably about the same as the regular menu. I would say feel free to just order from the regular menu and mix and match since you don't really get much of a discount ordering the prix fix menu. Ambiance is a little noisy and dark. It was pretty noisy from people talking, babies crying, people watching videos on their phones. Space is a pretty small too. Overall: the food was pretty good! I especially enjoyed the keema samosa. Prices are affordable. Didn't get to try the naan this time so would love to try it next time.
I came here with a two of my friends on a Wednesday night. We got there around 6:15 and waited about 15 minutes for a table. I don't believe they take reservations. Almost as soon as we sat down, we were asked if we were ready to order. Other than feeling rushed, everything else about our dinner was fantastic. I ordered the lamb korma. It was delicious, the portions were generous, and everything was affordable.
I looked up the best Indian restaurants in New York City, and this restaurant was included in every single top Indian restaurant review. I was not disappointed. I believe this restaurant was great. I arrived immediately when they opened at 5 p.m. By the time I left, the place was completely packed. They do not take reservations, so it is first come, first served. I ate garlic naan, cheese naan, veggie samosas, Chicken Tikka Masala, and Saag Paneer. I wasn't a big fan of the Saag Paneer, but I loved everything else. The samosas were massive! I'm not sure if you could have requested a certain spiciness level, but I wanted the Tikka masala to be a little hotter, but I didn't ask if you could adjust the spice level. The prices are also affordable! Four stars - Love those samosas!
